Yes, there are two rules. The first is that you must paste or paint a ‘L’ sign at the back and front of your vehicle in red, on a white background and the second is that you must at all times be accompanied by a person holding a regular license. Secondly, if you are learning how to drive a two-wheeler, you cannot carry any other person on the pillion except your instructor.
Once armed with a learner’s license, a candidate becomes eligible for 30-day training at a government-approved motor training school. At the end of the training, one has to appear for the practical test, on clearing which s/he would get a permanent license.
Even after getting a permanent license, the driver must put up two “L” signs at the back and the front of the car and drive only under the supervision of a trained driver for another month.
